As the election results come to a close, many people feel a mix of excitement and uncertainty about the future of the United States. Some might find this sentiment surprising or even distasteful, but if you looked at the world as an outsider—like an alien seeing it for the first time—you might perceive these images as celebrating a loved one or a hero. While documenting this wedding, I initially couldn’t grasp the joy behind having a Trump cutout present. But as I observed more closely, I realized it wasn’t really about Trump—it was about people having fun and being unapologetically playful. I could be wrong or simply misunderstanding, but I always strive to set aside my biases and just witness the moment for what it is.
